This sounds like a dream trip...even with the lost luggage which, thankfully, finally came through. I was especially taken with your mention of the cork trees. What a fun trip. I've always wanted to visit Spain. Looks like such a beautiful c.
My favorite part was learning about the cork trees. I've never really wondered where they came from... always assumed they were just something someone invented. Never in a million years would have thought they were actually organic and come from living trees!

Thanks for your kind words. I was like you in regard to the cork trees. They actually peel the bark off the trees. I found myself checking them out as we passed to look at the ones harvested. It was a great trip, and I would like to go back again. Sarah

I enjoyed reading this story which read like a travel logue. I've always wanted to go to Spain. So far my favorite European trip was Italy. I've been there twice. Switzerland and Austria were also high on the list. I wanted to visit the Greek Isles too. Thank you for sharing this story.
