It's always a pleasure to read another fine Cody chapter. I'm sorry I've gotten so far behind and can't reward it properly, but I'm down to 42 reviews from last week and working to catch up. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Know that feeling. Always appreciate your reviews, and would regardless of how many stars accompany them.

I'm always hearing about something Amazon has done to make it appear they aren't a good place to shop. I always check out the item on other sites and the price is usually pretty much the same and I save with free shipping so I buy a lot on Amazon. Cody is a typical boy. That's the best kind of kid to have.

Hello Brett,
while the conversation between the sheriff and Beth sound very much like a real life exchange, it doesn't add a whole lot to Cody's story in my opinion. I think a separate post about the shaky policies of Amazon would be appreciated, but it seems out of place here.
Blessings,
Tom

I love it. It's very well written as always, Brett. You raise some very interesting issues here. I have read about the lawsuit and I'm not in doubt that Amazon is trying to create a monopoly. I use them as well. It's handy and convenient and it's fast service. They are very popular here in Spain. So I'm following the lawsuit.
I loved the last scenes where Cody comes in more dead than alive. Boys will always be boys. Ulla:)

This was a great read. Seeing you are writing about Amazon and you sell on there as well a bit strange?? Very descriptive of Cody's state of grubby. Thanks again.

There's no doubt about it, Cody is all boy, definitely slugs and snails and puppy dog tails, covered in dirt from head to toe, sounds a little like me when I was a boy, playing footy anf cricket from Dawn till dusk, beautifully written Breyer, blessings Roy

I'm not sure a discussion about Amazon adds much to Cody's story. The end when he comes in the house looking a lot like the kids in my neighborhood did. I was usually the one with the goose egg somewhere.

This is the first chapter I've read with Beth being an active part of the chapter. She seems to be the grounding personality between the sheriff and Cody. She's the perfect balance in mother form. Great chapter. Gretchen

So Amazon is not fair and nice, what a shocker. How about all the banks and finance houses charging usury fees? How about Walmart having most of its people working part-time hours so they don't have to pay full-hour benefits? Tilt at whatever windmills you want cowboy, but it will consume you if you let it.
I rarely use amazon anymore. I bought a big box of 48 batteries, supposed to be good for at least 4 years. 40 days later I started noticing that the batteries were lasting any time at all. Amazon said no refind, it was past the 30 day mark. That was a year ago, haven't used them since. Good story. Want more. Karen

My novels are on Amazon, but I go out of my way not to order from them unless it's absolutely necessary. I will pay extra to keep from using them. Yes, boys will be boys and Cody's appearance resembles my boys' backyard football games. This is another great write.
perusal (You taught me a new word. I had to look it up. Thank you.)
Beth sat down on the comfortable divan. (Omit 'down', it's understood.)
"None other," the sheriff smiled. ("None other." The sheriff smiled.)
Beth returned to her masterpiece, "Well, let's just hope (Beth returned to her masterpiece. "Well, let's just hope )
