This poem, Robbed by His Throb, presented with an AABB-rhymed quatrain, tells the sad story of the frog that dies from a stone in the windpipe. At least that's what we were toad.

Even though you used the word "sadly," your froggy in the rain poem is funny. What made it funny was my first impression of "croaked." He made a frog sound. Then I realized he "croaked." Aaww.

This is fun! Lovely, nicely metered and rhymed verse. And, as long as his little tadpoles are going to be ok, that's fine with me. And I know the term "croaked" (is it British?) and of course it's so appropriate here for a frog. Perfect! Good luck! Debbie

Ohhh, come onnnnnn! Have you NO shame whatsoever, Mystery Frog Poem Writer? Your punchline is that he croaked? I'm thinking a few minutes in the Time Out Chair for you is in order. (Okayyyy...it DID give me a chuckle.) Good luck in the contest. xo

I enjoyed the humour here and the play on words for "croaked". It's an original and different poem for the contest so I send you best wishes for the voting.

It is easy to read and the text is well centered. It's a sad end for this once-throaty fellow. I liked the color you used to frame the image. I like simple, short poems, and this is one of them.

Ha! What a punny ending! :) This is very cute. I like your choice of rhymes and your tight metre, as well as the slightly whimsical demise of the poor froggy at the end. Good luck in the contest.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is very good. It tells a complete story in poetic form. It shows great skill that you got all the elements in with perfect rhyme and in the required four lines. This will be a hard one anyone to beat.

It put a smile on my face.

This is a treat! Loved the clever rhymes (took me three times to spell that right) and your great play on words. Too bad the frog had to die. Ha!

Good job here and good luck!
