I like the simplicity and yet profoundness of this piece. The artwork is simply stunning and also helps to convey the theme in a most apt way. Good luck for the contest.

Great contemplative piece. It does beg the question, " Who is 'he'?

But, as in all of these matters, that is between him
and his Maker.

    thank you for taking the time to read and review. "he" was my ex, he passed away on Saturday. I have another poem in the works but it's a had one. He was abusive in our married years, that is what brought me to writing, it was cathartic.

If I were to write a continuation, it would say, for we walk by faith and not by sight. That is what I thought of immediately when I read your kind words. I'm sure your friend's heart will be moved.

    My daughter went to see her dying father and she told me how most of the time she was there his eyes were closed. That was just my first thought when she told me that. He passed on Saturday, I do pray and I think he has found his way. Thank you for the kind review.
