I enjoyed reading about your uncle and his ultimate sacrifice.
"Same Gave All" was written for soldiers like your uncle who didn't return You wrote him a beautiful remembrance poem.
WW2 was supposed to be the last war instead many more have been fought and many more lives have been lost.
Sadly, our dark side prevails still.

What a beautiful tribute to a brave man and a poignant commemoration of his loss. I have military history in my family and it shapes your view of the world and our place in it, particularly when the family has suffered tragic loss. There can be few agonies like losing a twin. I wish you well for the contest.

Thank you very much Navada. My father never spoke of his war experiences, until a couple of times near the end of his life. The trauma never left him. Thank you too for the good wishes.

This was excellent. I can't imagine the pain your father was in about losing his "other half." I could feel the bond between the two siblings in your story. Great job!

It's so good to honour those who fought, or who even volunteered in a war, it doesn't matter who started it, not all causes are exactly pure, but the one who loses his life for the sake of others, is a good man. Beautifully written, my friend, well done, blessings Roy

I'm so sorry for your lost, mystery poet. I lost my brother to Agent Orange related cancer. He served three tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret Weapons Sergeant. He was a soldier as well as an exemplary individual. Loss of this magnitude never gets easier.

Oh wow, what a loving tribute to a man you were never able to meet because he was killed before you were born, and killed defending liberty. Your poor father. How terribly alone he must have felt.
