A photo is always better than a bloom in hand but it's hard to tell a child that. What a wonderfully written poem.

Don't eat the damn things or for that matter, prune them as they are quite thorny and will bring unwanted pain. Beauty is best enjoyed via the photograph.

This poem made me cry bittersweet tears.
Sweet: because in our villa in Spain we had two glorious Bougainvilleas
One was dark pink and the other was dark red.
Their beauty brought us much happiness.
Bitter : my mamma had bought the villa( Tossa De Mar the location) and my parents lived there for 16 years until she passed away suddenly. I would come and visit every year.
We sold it after her death and my papa' came back to live in our family home in North Italy with me and our pets. We took 5 cats back too.

What a beautiful presentation Bill, seeing the flower so close one can even imagine why you choose the words used...It's not always easy to get true meaning from just a 5-7-5 syllable count form, but you did this very well...much enjoyed...
