This had a mournful lost soul feeling to it. The picture at the top was lonely and haunting.

It cried out for a twenty-sixth review like a moor owl at midnight. I know. Just shake your head.

Hello Gypsy,
This is a marvelous free verse poem with outstanding imagery.
It looks and feels like a series of wonderful haiku or senyru
that captures the essence of loneliness.

Of special note:
I'm barely living
tangled in the penumbra
of your absence

Stunning presentation too.
Beautiful.
Best wishes.
Robert

Gypsy,

This is beautifully written poem about love and longing. Each stanza conveys the emotional journey one's spirit endures when a special bond between two lovers ends and one is heartbroken and the other person longs for the other continuing to search for reasons as to why.

All the best,

Eugene

This is a really sad piece, and I could feel the emotions coming through strongly, but it is so well written. You can feel just how lonely this narrator is, and it comes through very strongly, especially with the last few lines. An excellent piece of writing. I really enjoyed reading it.

Gypsy, I usually prefer rhyming poetry, however when I started reading
You captured my attention. This is very well-written and understandable.
I think it deserves a six, but I have used them all. Here is a virtual six.

I swear I already reviewed this. The pictures as always are quite thought provoking. Your words are clear and they burrow into us so the poem stays with us for a while. Nicely done. Karen

This poem profoundly explores themes of love, loss, and longing with a deep emotional intensity. Its vivid imagery and powerful language create a poignant narrative of someone grappling with the absence of a loved one.

The opening stanza, "as long as you're alive, / I'll feel you in my heart / and know it in my mind," establishes a connection that transcends physical presence. This bond is deeply ingrained in the speaker's heart and mind, suggesting a love that is enduring and unshakeable.

The loneliness and yearning of a broken heart comes through clearly in this beautiful presentation of sadness. You definitely excel at expressing deep feelings in your excellent free verse postings, Gypsy.

Ahhh, yes. You do this genre of free verse with a energy that takes you into a deeper place of understanding a loneliness... of an unfilled emptiness that cannot be quenched within its knowing.

This is truly beautiful in its sorrow... in its blue mood, in its rich language.... sad, yet stunning!

With our thoughts we create...
an indelible connection.

Warmest regards,
James.

This is certainly one of the best I've read from you and a virtual six from me. It is such a poignant read as we know from the start that there is a separation or loss. Because of this, nature has lost its resonance and become colourless and pointless. And even the narrator barely exists (that fourth stanza is exquisite) while darkness shrouds her soul. Beautifully presented and a joy to read. Thanks for sharing, Gypsy (and congrats on your last contest win!) Debbie
