Aha. Perhaps we should study them more closely. It seems we kill our young by sending them to war fairly consistently. Fun fact: Geese don't feed their young either. They are born with the ability to forage on their own and thus feed themselves!

We can learn lots from the animal world. Perhaps the Fall hasn't affected them as much. But there are males of some species that might try to eat their young. Geese are very devoted parents. This might be a senryu but not a typical haiku.

Yes, I thought of it as a possible senryu, but God gave me the words, so I wrote them. I'm not as interested in winning (though it's nice!) as I am in diverse forms of writing.

Thank you for sharing this contes entry with us. I am guessing Geese don't attempt to change the sex of their young either. Just saying. I enjoyed listening to the video too. I taught first grade for 26 years.
