This is a so beautiful poem about Hope. The picture reminds me of my Godfather, who stayed on a wheelchair for 37 years before his death. His hope to walk again faded very fast after his accident, and he lived his life as good as he as able to with his handicap...
Thank you for sharing this beautiful text and good luck for the contest.

The first two lines flow and connect well. The last line says it all! The
poem makes one stop and think! The poem is thought provoking. The
artwork is perfect and compliments this poem well.

This is just fantastic. I love irony. That picture is perfection. The creative mind is a wonderful thing.
The matting color was so clever. The purple you would not think would blend and compliment but it did. It kept the scene from becoming morose. This was wonderful. Karen

Goodness. This is such a powerful combination of sadness and poignancy. This is the very definition of hope - the overcoming of life's difficulties at the promised end of the line when our mortal bodies fall away and true communion with God is fully restored. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Well then, the last word really says it all doesn't it.
You flash fiction twisted the end of this 5/7/5. Doing that in such a short syllable count makes you a Master Poet in my book!
Great job and good luck. Well done!

This is a wonderful poem on Hope as I have the same hope about being able to see. I can hardly wait to be able to see again from one side of heaven to the other. Sending my best day as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest. Sally :))

This is a very poignant 5 -7-5 poem that you have written. I am losing my vision and I have the hope of one day when I die that I will have my vision restored. And your poem indicates that this person in the photograph has lost his legs and he will have them restored one day. Patricia.

Thank you, Patricia.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

That verse from Isaiah is absolutely one of my favorite verses in the whole Bible. Thanks for sharing it.

A captivating piece that makes the reader do a double-take, or should I say, a double-read. A unique depiction of hope in precious few telling words. I enjoyed this.
