I liked reading this. I thought it was clever. It has two tales to tell, depending on how you read it. Congratulations on the 8 words or less contest prize also! Fun post for winter and so timely as well.

Thank you, Crystie. Glad you got the double meaning. It was fun to write. The cold and kleenex was not.

Well done on your placing for this clever little poem. I make no comment on the wisdom (or lack of) in the voting! I love your playing with words here. So few, but so witty. Well done!

I am not a fan of colds, nor a fan of winter. And yet, your poem made me smile. Well done and very clever. Even the shape of the poem is perfect. Thank you for the smile today!

I read this twice because I think it can bee interpreted in at least two ways.
1) the cold weather often leads to being getting the flu or catching a cold, resulting in the use of tissue
2) The cold and snowy weather blankets the surrounds in what resembles being covered in white tissue.

Good idea and execution.

After spending the last three days buried under a mountain of Kleenex from a cold, I enjoyed your clever, creative, and very funny take on winter's "cold."
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

I love the clever way you wrote this verse, Ginda. so many of us with sniffles and such really get your fun quip about the blizzard of tissues. LOL. Well done and good job on placing in the contest!

Thanks, Melissa, for your kind words. It was inspired by the many kleenex I used up until the "blizzard" passed.

Hi Ginda,
This is a witty and apt metaphor for the pile of Kleenex used when you have a bad cold,.
Congrats on your third place finish in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy Holiays.

Ginda,

Congratulations for placing third in this contest. Your entry made me smile. Guess we've all been there when a cold strikes. I also liked your use of the Kleenex ad for your image. Well done and prize well deserved!

How funny!!! I can see why this placed in the 8-word poem contest! There's a double-entendre in the first line which fits perfectly. Also a metaphor of "blizzard."
