This is a good story. You started with the halloween part and I remember having my children divide the candy. Of course, some pieces were perferred over others. We never had an antenae on top of the house but we were always moving rabbit ear to get rid of the snow. I had an angel I wouldn't let the kids touch because they would tear her feather wings.

This was a wonderful continuation chapter, Liz. It was rather beautiful, and I enjoyed it immensely. Wow, what a chore you did with Timmy's land. You did so well, no wonder you did no wrong. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Hugs n Smiles!!!

I find your autobiographical stories truly delightful Liz. I'm so glad that we don't have to mess about tv aerials anymore. It was so dangerous some times. I enjoyed reading this.

All these childhood adventure and experiences you had are just so captivating and remind me of children's literature like Enid Blyton etc. Imagination was firing on all cylinders and it just makes my own childhood seem really dull:( Sadly, I don't have any stories about antennae or glass angels but I was particularly naughty at school (which I won't go into here). Your mother certainly had her work cut out. But I don't think she minded too much! A great chapter, Liz! Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Thank you for your entertaining review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You could write your school tales in a magical fiction. Let me know.

We had the glass angel and the TV antenna. Your memories could be just about the same as mine. I had one younger brother, just the two of us. Thank you for sharing this with us. I loved reading.

Thank you for your entertaining review. That's fodder for your autobiography. The thing that's funny is I wrote this 20+ years ago and am surprising myself what I wrote.

I can remember doing that with the arial, Dad would climb the ladder outside, and Mum would stand be the TV, and shout to me to tell Dad to stop, go left, right, etc. Now, you don't even need an arial. Your story brought lots of memories back for me as a child, what fun we had. I enjoyed this, and the memories. Well done. Sandra xx

Oh yes, Liz I remember that from when ai was a child. Our for TV was back in 1956. It was amazing. Not many had a TV back then in Denmark. I had to keep quiet about in kindergarten, because nobody would have believed. The position of the aerial was a nightmare.
I loved this chapter and the plays you had with your siblings. Ulla:)))

Thank you for your entertaining review. I think we got ours around '57. What was funny was we had this plastic sheet to delude ourselves believing er had color tv.The top was blue, middle pink and the bottom was blue. bwaaa

Aw, that is funny. That never occurred to us. We were just so in awe with the black and white xcx

Thanks for chronicling the adventure with the antenna. That feels like ancient history now. We never had an antenna like that. Nor did I have a glass angel but you made me want one after reading about yours!

We had the rabbit ears and we had to bang the t v every once in a while to get it the tune in. Then we graduated to an actual turn knob on the t v where you might get three channels one in color. Very well written I must say it's dramatically perfect. I love the stories about Christmas too. And that mother is, and fathers and families come together even in critical times I do not have that option and I'm glad many people do so I wish you a happy holiday. This is a fine submission o k have a great night!

Thank you for your delightful review. I may go to neighbors for some gathering but that's it. I have unpleasant experiences. My favorite holiday is halloween because it does not involve family. I feel your emptiness.

I don't remember ever seeing a glass angel, but moving our antenna was a fairly recent project. One of us stood on the peak of the one-story section of house and turned a pole that moved the antenna above the two-story section as someone in the house shouted out through the window. Your story is very amusing and sounds just like kids think.
