Thanks for this horticultural stroll through your garden! My knowledge of botanical names is limited, but I enjoyed your obvious enthusiasm and I feel that I learned something from reading.

Thank you so much Navada. They are the Latin names for the WEEDS. Thanks for the review. Eric X

Good idea in the title, as FanStory will not accept capitals in a title. Bizarrely!

Lovely celebration of common weeds. The fashion now is for rewilding and letting nature take over. You're clearly a trailblazer.

I try trailblazing everywhere JSD. And, bizarrely, I like using capitals. Thanks for your comment on my tale of WEEDS.

Weeds are the bane of many proud gardeners. So some people call them flowers and other people called them Wade. I enjoyed your poem very much and I wish you the very best Christmas and may you have a happy and prosperous new year. Patricia.

Thank you Patricia and the very same to you and yours. Thanks for your review. I was hoping the Latin wouldn't put folks off. THANK YOU, Eric X

I took Latin in high school, so the Latin didn?t bother me at all.

You, Patricia, took Latin, I took The Yorkshire dialect. I am a lowly commoner with no qualifications except AAAAAs in love.

Using their Latin names, you have elevated your ordinary flowers to a lofty position. Lowly though they may be, they clearly bring you joy and vivid color. Who wouldn't like such a garden?

Thank you soooooo much Ginda, for your great review, I appreciate all reactions to my posts. I'm happy you liked the inclusion of the Latin. I thank you again as I don't get that many reviews. Eric X

Wow you have made weeds sound so wonderfully exotic!! You have given each flower a different character, ie,
"the meercat of my garden,
keeps a sunny eye from it's lofty perch
and never seeks my pardon."
Very nice.

Thanks Wendyanne. Diversification is the name of the game for poets. And anyway the poem reflects the state of my garden. LOL

A brilliant poem that cleverly and beautifully describes various types of plants/flowers that we would consider weeds but which have much to contribute, though we sometimes don't stop to notice this. I especially loved the stanza about the daisy... "an image of snowy down", "with the strength and tenacity of the Oak". A splendid write!
