This poem points out succinctly that the Son of God showed more love than the rest of us could understand. I was trying to figure out why there was a mention of 3 nails and then 4 nails. Some of the other reviewers had good ideas. I was thinking also, that the cross might have been nailed together, and the sign that said who he was might have been nailed with one nail, too. Congratulations on the honorable mention!

The directness of your lines bring an emotional intensity. It's horrible to think of the pain of His sacrafice. I appreciate how you've used it to share what love really is. I've never thought of it like that before and I think it is perfect. It's a touching and heartfelt poem.

I have often heard that it was actually three nails (one on each hand and one for one foot over the other). I think the Catholic church believes it's four nails, and other denominations believe in three nails to reflect the holy trinity. I could, of course, be wrong. Your poem was very moving, either way. That is certainly the untimate example of love. God is love an and no one has greatly love than one who give up his life for those he loved and not only that but take on the sin of everyone on who would ever live so they might be saved.
