Wow. I like John Denver whom I have hard of but never heard of his songs. I'm very grateful to you for introducing this amazing singer to me. I guess I have heard of the Rocky Mountain High before. He has an amazing voice.

Excellent.

Thank you so very much for this! And in particular for being so open-minded. There's a tendency, sometimes I think, to discount the verse because the artist isn't known or liked. Your very kind review and supportive comments are greatly valued. Take care Debbie

I still have a few old John Denver LP's. My husband was a big fan, we both enjoyed his music even though his bubble burst after hearing about his domestic abuse.Good memories is some of these songs, Debbie. Another good bio-poem.
Cheers

I love what you wrote, as this strikes a chord in me! I am one of the biggest fans. I used to sing ' Annie's Song' to my fiancée Ann, who has been my wife for 44 years! My favourite song (actually most are my favourites,), but I find myself often humming: 'Sunshine on My Shoulders'
Beautifully narrated!!!

A beautiful tribute to one of those voices from my college years. I never thought I'd be living one day in a world without John Denver, Mary Travers, (how about a poem on her?), Rick Nelson so many, and how so many perished in air crashes.

Thank you so much, Jim, for your kind review and suggestions all of which I appreciate! Terry suggested Hank Williams. What do you think? I'm not actually very familiar with him. Debbie

You took the life of a famous star and pieced it together for the reader to live as though they were there watching it as it happened. I loved the notes that you left for us to educate the reader.

Thank you for sharing the story of John Denver, one of my favorite artists.
I was privileged to see and hear him sing in the "round" once with only a few accompanists with him. It was all John for two or three hours. It was magical.

Great poem about one of the greats.
Blessings
Janet

Yes, I enjoyed John's Dooles Doroff's music. He took the name Dever. after Colorado an area he sung about. He was a wife beater, a drunk and it was alcohol that got him killed, however he could write and sing good songs.

Thank you so much, Ben, for this kind and thoughtful review. Yes, they skirted around his abuse in the biographies I read but clearly he had an issue with alcohol although not a factor in the accident. Simply recklessness, not something he would have inherited from his father who was a decorated pilot and very dedicated to his occupation. Thanks Ben, Debbie

I sung a couple of his covers in my entertaining days, he was a terrific vocalist was John Denver, But you've cleverly written another biographical poem so brilliantly, but not only that but you've done terrifically well by weaving all those songs in the narrative, well done, blessings Roy

Hi Debbie, John Denver was one of my favorite
singer...and song writers...it broke my heart when
he passed away...

I knew of his life as a child...because I loved his music I
did keep up with him...always when I thought he was
happy with his life...he would write a song telling a
different story...one thing about John...most of his music
was about people in his life...and his life..

I loved the songs he sang...and I loved his voice...he was
another singer in years passed that had that 60's-70's sound...
that people born in the 50's and 60's and 70's loved so much...
and many today still listen to...

I love your stories told my wonderful friend...and if published
so would many people...I wish we had some 10 stars for writing
like this...so much work goes into them...I love your poem you...
and love your videos...I think I have every song John Denver ever
sang...well done Debbie...very well written...love you...Linda xxoo

I had no idea! Definitely needed to be changed, poor guy. I do not know his music very well, but country road always made me feel nostalgic just listening to it. Thanks so much for sharing about his life. I do remember when he died, and how tragic that was. This was very informative! Julie
