I wanted to enter but there were no spots left.
I saw this pic on Pinterest ( not the gif, you found though) ,
I love that site, it has so many beautiful pictures to choose from.
I love your closing line and the rhyme you were able to create.
It's not easy to write something fresh when it comes to short seasonal contests. Your closing line did just that.

I like that the first line set me up to expect a potential tragedy-- though maybe that is just because I am too used to wildfires in my neck of the woods. The imagery in this poem is great. You do a lot I very few words to give us an impression of exactly what this fall looks like. Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh! Loving this, mystery poet. I adore autumn albeit far from me as I live in the tropics. My fondest childhood memories are of autumn's splendor. Magnificent offering in short verse poetry.
