This is so excellent. You have given us so much information you must have had to do a lot of research. I kept trying to remember what it was why he got banned or his book got banned or his name got banned and you kind of covered that here but I was wondering if there was some other reason for the banning. I just read the write up. He was a man with the belief system of his times. He would write very differently today.

Hey Liz, thanks so much for this wonderful review and comments. This was a fun one to do. He is truly my favorite and I just believe that there is always someone ready to complain about something. I don't believe for one minute any of that stuff is so bad in those books they banned. It's just how your perception is with the fun words he uses.

Hey can I ask a favor of you if you get this right away? I am hoping to get my 26th review for my latest USA poem before midnight NY time, so if you wouldn't mind just reading fast, as it isn't very long, I would really appreciate it. I have never asked anyone for a review in my life, but there is a good reason I want it today yet. Thank you a head of time, and even if you can't, I understand.

**** one of the really nice things is Rebekah my editor asked me how many friends I had and that she would bring as many books as I needed, when she comes for for the signing
I was originally asking her where my friend Somara should look to buy them for me to send to all my friends who are in my books. The sighing is written on the contract to be on the 11th. I am so excited. I will let you know when it has happened. Then I will write my issues to finally get here.

I like the way you alternated information about Dr. Seuss's life in the quatrains with info about his books in the couplets. As always, your rhyming is quite clever. We have a few Dr. Seuss books. He was the King of Rhyme. My personal favorite is "Horton Hears A Who". But you've done a very nice job with rhymes in your poem. I especially enjoyed these lines...
"Please help me celebrate my favorite author, Dr Seuss.
I've always loved his books, better than Tales of Mother Goose."
and,
"The green ole Grinch, who'd bite and pinch, if all you had left was an inch.
And it's a cinch for him to winch an innocent dear Whoville finch."

I am a Dr Seuss groupie, and I will always be."

"Twas WWII, when this man drew, 400 plus Cartoons
And they were mostly of the evil Hitler and his goons"
I had no idea he did this during World War II.

Hi Alex, I hope you saw that I had written you a couple pm messages asking you to let me know if you were going to be coming back. I see so many come and go so fast and it is hard to know without hearing anything. I am truly sorry about not getting your poem written, but I am working on a monorhyme right now, and I think I could enter your info to make it about you, if you wouldn't mind. After all it isn't that late. Please let me know right away and I would be happy to do it for you now. I don't have any for about another week or so. If you let me know right away, I can have it written and posted within a couple days.

I absolutely loved this, as all your biographical poems! I especially hold fondness for Dr. Seuss, as the first book I taught myself to read independently was a Dr. Seuss Book. I believe it was "Horton Hatches An Egg" as it was also a Loonie Tunes cartoon that was often on kids' TV. Now, most of them have gone by the wayside. Then came "Green Eggs and Ham" and all the rest. I wonder if I would love the art of writing were it not for the jump start I got from Dr. Seuss.

Dr Seuss is one of my favorite and my children and grandchildren can recite word for word many of his books even today as some of them are grown with children of their own.
Thank you for sharing his genius and acumen for writing and keeping our children smiling and learning (and us too).
