Oh my!!! Thank you for sharing this story in a poem contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and do understand. I love to bake but had to quit when my husband was diagnosed with diabetes. Your rhyming scheme was very good. Good luck with the contest.

This is a fun poem to read. Betsey is a great cook, too good and it looks like she will have to bake another fudge cake. Excellent use of rhyming words that is smooth and makes your poem fun to say out loud.

This was descriptive and fun. It really made me want some cake. I like the abcb rhyme scheme you used. I think it let the poem flow well. Poor Betsy having no cake at the end made me chuckle a little.

Yummy image supported by a clever and endearing poem. Poor Betsy for sure but the reader is left with a satisfaction that comes from a good story.

I remember this fun poem and enjoyed it. There's a danger in being too good a baker. For one it could mean gaining weight. But when sharing, it could mean not getting a piece! Best wishes in the contest!

Very smoothly written with excellent rhyme and metre and a fun topic, dealt with skilfully and with humour. The image is a good choice to accompany the words. Best wishes for your entry.

The rhyme was delightful and the words flowed so well. But you would have scored much better, (actually untrue I don't have any sixes left,) had you provided a sample, delivered express down under to Australia.

I just adore this fudge cake! It's a Southern cover dish delight. I can understand why there was none left. Always make two. One for the event, and one for home. A delighful, delicious poem, my friend. Sending you all my very best and good good wishes for the contest.

This is really well rhymed and neat poem. I enjoyed reading it. That is bad part aboug being a good cook. Enjoyment of good food it part of the game and the food may get a lot of campliments but your figure suffers. This should do well in the contest.
