I thought this was a powerful story that you share in this poem. The tale of love between a mermaid and a sailor is both poignant and tragic. The ending, with the mermaid's tears causing the waters to rise, is amazing. What a beautiful and well crafted story you share here in such a unique poem.

What a well written piece. It really comes full circle, doesn't it. Their fleeting romance, his decision to break her heart... the perhaps karmic tear tsunami. Beautifully done.
