I have to let you know that Joyce Kilmer was a man. An easy mistake to make, and numerous people have been thinking the same thing.
Like what kind of a name is Joyce for a man? I oughta know how stupid that is, since I have a sister and my mother's name was Joyce. So it still seems weird to me too.
But thank you again for one of the loveliest reviews ever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! Also for the honor of the six stars!! You're the best!!

This is just an incredible poem overall, that I relate to a lot. I, too, have a hard time writing poetry without rhymes, use writing as escapism, and grew up obsessed with Dr. Seuss. Speaking of rhymes, the ones in this piece are very nice and the poem flowed very well.

Yes, Trees has always been my favorite poem because it was the one that I read and loved so young. I am surprised that so many had never heard of it before and thought it to be about trees and yet it wasn't.
Marival, I thank you for the kindest words ever! To hear that you are proud of me makes my whole day, week, month, hell, maybe my whole year. LOL

very nice and wonderfully illustrated. One can never tire of the mighty tree and all that it can inspire. And to think that we sometimes refer to an element of the tree as 'bark'. Couldn't we have found a softer word to describe a protective coat?
