Hmm, not sure this short says or conveys listening is not enough. It seems that one party refused to listen what they were saying and what they always say.

I think you did a great job of showing two individuals that are having a lot of trouble communicating! You can feel the tension in the dialogue. Great job in sharing a story made up of just dialogue. This was an enjoyable read.

You have NAILED today's "apologies" SOOO perfectly! It is ALWAYS brought back to the person who did the bad deed. I refer to these as false apologies, because it has NOTHING to do with being genuinely sorry for what was said or done by them.
You so beautifully captured the exasperating nature AND also showed the technique for dismissing it. I think you should teach a master class on it!! Great work, Gramalot8. xo

Like this a lot. Realistic dialogue for a pretty common situation. Image perfect. Perhaps could have been a little bit longer but hey it is ok as it is.

When concentrating only on what your issues are with little or no regard to what someone else is saying, it will be very hard to drown out the rhetoric that threatens to over ride what you should be hearing. Excuses, blame and threats only make things worse. You must grow up and accept responsibility.

This short, only dialogue story does capture the essence of a two people in an argument. The interruptions feel realistic. The two speakers clearly have a history. We get a glimpse of their relationship. This is short, but it feels like an iceberg kind of thing. We see just a hint of a larger argument that's been building for a while.

I think I've heard conversations like this before, maybe been a part of one or two. It is funny how the abuser tries to take on the role of the abused. You did a great job of telling your conversation only story.

This piece leaves one with a slew of different emotions. The one I felt the most was empathy for them both and the fact that they obviously were struggling to communicate long before this conversation.
