A magnificent sonnet, my talented friend. I loved everything about this! Beautifully crafted and illustrated and themed in dreams. I'm fascinated by them too.
Sending you my best today as always, dear Jess, and blessing to you all.

I also find the idea of dreams fascinating. My mum dreamt of things that later became true a couple of times. In my case, my dreams are usually a reflection of my fears.
Congratulations on your lovely sonnet. I'm unable to write formal poetry myself. Just prose and free verse.
Well done!

All I know is that there are vast worlds in my dreams, cityscapes, people of all kinds, in minute detail, it seems. It makes me ponder the mind of the Almighty, who fashioned our minds.

I agree. Dreams are very intriguing, and their meanings and interpretations have been significant throughout history. Your poem is very thoughtful, and very beautifully composed and presented. The imagery is very lyrical, the rhymes are smooth, the metre is perfect. And the notes are informative. Well done, it's very lovely.

-Very nice artwork and presentation, Jessica.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-I have often wondered about dreams over the years;
now they just seem weird.
-You do a great job with your sonnet.
-Excellent imagery establishes the premise in verse one.
-Verse two is a very good follow up to that.
-A very good volta as we wake to daylight,
especially the last line.
-A very good closing couplet that makes
a very good point about "wisdom of the night."
-A very good entry; good luck!!

This poem had a mysterious, ethereal feel to it. I liked the rhyme scheme you chose. I feel it adds whimsy. The sonnet structure worked well.

All I can say is Wow! A stunning poem with such great metaphors and personification!y favorite part was :
"secrets of the stars, we're meant to keep.
Unfiltered are the thoughts our dreams explore;
Our minds cannot be closed when they're asleep."
Dreams play a big part in the Bible such as in lives of Jacob and Joseph's interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams and the NT Joseph being told to marry Mary and later to escape. Sometimes dreams reveal what more about ourselves and sometimes God can speak to us when we're not doing all the talking...

Thank you, Helen, for this beautiful comment. I love what you said about God being able to speak to us when "we?re not doing all the talking". That is what I believe, wholeheartedly.
Thank you, again!

I like that you have included scientific theories about dreams in your author's notes. It plants our feet solidly on the ground, while your poem invites us to take flight and enjoy the mystery and the magic of dreams.

Very good, I know how difficult it is to write a sonnet, so many rules to keep to and not just rhymes. Your has it all it the idea of sleep and dream developed. Contrasted with being awake. The final two lines I find are the hardest to write and yours are excellent, leaving an idea of open minded wonder.

A lovely sonnet about our dreams Jessica, and I loved the idea of slipping into the cradle of night's arms. As a child I had very graphic, frightening dreams, I'm not sure whose theory that would suit. Beautifully descriptive and a great use of alliteration Jessica. A lovely presentation.
cheers,
