I liked reading this. It is pretty lyrical in its style. The moon has definitely inspired many poems across the centuries.
My favorite line is:
Yet as the moon begins its gentle creep,
and your personification is definitely accomplishing something here.

This is well crafted with stunning imagery, drawing the reader instantly into this mesmerising scene. I love the moon's creep and the hush that descends in particular. The only issue I have is with the rhyming couplet: the first line is one too many syllables and the second line is out of meter (which surprised me because everything else has been done so perfectly). This is a beautiful sonnet that you have written about the solar eclipse that's coming up and I wish you the very best I will not be able to see a full eclipse where I live, but parts of the US are going to be able to see it quite well. Patricia .
