Hello Gretchen,
your poem brought back memories of days long past. Water is a magnet to kids, and adults alike I suppose. How else to explain so many people wanting to live near the water? We used to ride our bikes through the big puddles, hoping that we had enough momentum to make it from one end to the other without having to peddle. Thanks for sharing this.
Have a blessed day.

I always preferred playing outside. Never let a little rain stop me. Lol. Glad my grandchildren are the same. Thank you for this. Gretchen

There is something about jumping in mud puddles that fills the heart with joy. I need to teach that skill to my great-grandson Colt. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you, Mike. Definitely get that grandson out there. He'll probably see a whole different world. Lol. Gretchen

Yes, children love playing in the puddles. Heck, children can find fun any where, long as they can keep the old people and their worries at bay. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

That's amazing I love it. I don't ever remember jumping in puddles myself but I am sure it would be fun. As an adult I enjoy cooling my feet in a steam when on a long hike. Five starts, thanks for sharing.
NB: I think it is normal to put a hyphen in Grown-up and Grown-ups. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Mark. It's never too late to jump in a puddle. I've Bern known to partake when the weather is warmer. I do appreciate the review and the edit. Gretchen

It's great that you let them be kids, free and spontaneous, and I bet their faces were alight with pleasure rather than being downcast through being cooped up inside. A great share - and a good reminder.

I encourage being outside. We do art on gloomy days when the weather isn't cooperating. Thank you, Wendy. Gretchen

This is a great poem and splashing through puddles isn't just for kids. I love to put up my umbrella and splash through puddles, always have, always will until the legs won't work.

Let's hope those legs keep on keeping on. I'll do it when it's warm outside. Too chilly for me the other day. Lol. Thank you for understanding the magic of that moment. And for the stars. Gretchen

This was a very nice poem. My grandkids used to love playing in the rain. I like the picture. It goes well with the poem. The rhyming in the poem was good. Very good job

"Then turn them loose outside" sounds like you are talking about the boots. Maybe you could say "Then turn the kids loose outside" or something similar. Feel free to ignore my ideas, though.
Your poem was fun and joyful, and your rhymes were charming. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you

I'll take all the help I can on poetry. I have zero intuition on this realm of writing. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Those pesky puddles are like a magnet to kids and dogs. No care in the world, just slosh right on through..
hmmm, me thinks like we were at that same age.
Some things never change!
Great posted poem.
