My parents were true gifts to me, and I broke their hearts at every turn, till I met God's Gift for us, His Life. This has nothing to do with your wonderful words, but, speaking of those whipped cream fights, I was a participant in 1980 at the World's Biggest Pie Throwing Contest in Hollywood, and it was featured on TV!
