Hi John,
As humble as you may portray this dish to be, the health benefits are so strong in scientific evidence that it even blows my mind.

Yes, just the humble pea is a good source of vitamins C and E, zinc, and other antioxidants that strengthen your immune system. Other nutrients, such as vitamins A and B and coumestrol, help reduce inflammation and lower your risk of chronic conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. Hmmmm, not too sure about the cheese though... but sometimes you just have to live dangerously:))

This read had my taste buds salivating and I'd not long consumed my breakfast... so this one will have to wait until another day. For tonight is... yes, you guessed it Pasta night... well fresh-homemade pesto with a penne rigate pasta. It's our go-to Sunday night dish while the basil is still thriving.

But this recipe is a keeper and will be definitely on a pasta night Sunday of the future... hmmmm Italian comfort food. Does life get much better!

Thanks for the share my very considerate Brother.

With our thoughts we create...
the love of comfort.

Kindest regards,
James.

There?s nothing better than fresh basil pesto?
A couple of pieces of garlic bread, a glass of chilled Merlot, the love of your life on the other side of the table! Doesn?t get much better then that, I?d say.

Enjoy my brother and thanks a bunch for stopping by!

    Cheers,
    John

Oh wow, you've got my mouth watering! I've never had this dish before, but it sounds amazing! I'll have to share the recipe with my sister, who loves to cook, especially Italian food. Go figure, we're Irish.

Thanks for sharing your recipe and sense of humor as well.

Take care,
Rhonda

You certainly have made this sound tasty. Not only that, it sounds very simple to make. I would not be surprised that some of the readers here were taking your recipe and making something yummy tonight. The other thing that you have done which is very popular is to tie this in with watching ball games well done.

Dang it, John. I just started a thirteen hour driveway shift and now I am really hungry. Ha!

I have seen the
Is dish with a white sauce. Have you heard of that before or is my wife making it wrong. Well, maybe not wrong, as it is delicious, but probably different.

Thanks for sharing.

You completely frustrate me with these recipes. I'd love to try them but with my husband being diabetic, he needs to watch his carbs and can't eat pasta. I'm GRRing you from afar. LOL It's looks really good.

I?m sorry? what does your husband eat? I?ll try to tailor a post for him.

He's supposed to stay under 90 carbs a day which is basically meat and veggies but has to be careful with the veggies. Some are high in carbs.

These recipes you share all sound amazing. The last one had green beans in it which was a surprise and this time there are peas in it! i do not associate peas with Italian cooking but maybe I should start because it looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Peas? I make Risi e Bisi? rice and peas. Similar but with prosciutto.
    I?ll share that one soon.

    Thanks for reading.

That looks fabulous, John. I will plan on making that soon. I've made a number of your recipes the last few years, and I've enjoyed every one. Keep 'em coming, though you're not doing much for my waistline! - Jim

This sounds delicious. This Italians I've met all see pretty laid back but maybe all that comfort food is what gets them in that condition. lol. I see a lot ingredients I would need to shop for before making this. I've never heard of Pecorino Romano Cheese nor have I ever used pancetta. I'll see if my grocery store carries the cheese.

You can substitute a thick sliced bacon or prosciutto for the pancetta. Though I?m sure your store will carry it.

    Thank you Beth.

This sounds, delizioso! So nourishing too with the baby peas as the stalwart ingredient. Vitamin A, C, K, B-3 and B-9 coming up! The pancetta most likely pushes the flavor over the top. Mostly is sounds easy to make and super delicious. Leftovers? I hope so!
Thanks for sharing, Chef John!
Sending you my best today as always, and bowls of blessings,
Sal :))
