Hey Debora, I don't know if I've told you before or not but I just love the way you tell a story inside a rhyming poem. Your thoughts are cogent and strategically placed. I love how you took the Mundine and created a little masterpiece. If you would've been able to promote it he would've done very well. I'm not bias, I'm just a truthful believer in your abilities!

Doc, that's the kindest review I've ever recieved, both online and in our local writing group. Thank you so much. You made this old gal truly happy tonight. I'm glad I took a short break from composing to join this contest. It's been fun and such a change of pace! No staffs, measures, beats, and harmonies to think about ! lol But, tomorrow, I have to do both, so I may be posting a snong as a poem! We'll see how that works out. lol
Blessings and, again, thank you so very much.

You are most welcome Deb. My wife and I are in cocoa Beach enjoying a week so anything I do right is minimal and short. God bless

"I love the smell of fresh-cut grass
and roses down the lane."
I sneeze and snot and soil my sleeves
but love it just the same.
It's always fun, Deb, my dear
Thanks for sharing.

Ha! I think I like your take on it better...
I'm allergic to roses but LOVE them. My hubby used to bring me roses every Friday and then our daughter let slip that they make me sneeze when I'm close to them. You guessed it - not another rose has entered my home! I get carnations and daisies, but no roses... I guess that's a smart thing but I sure do miss those beauties.
Oh, and congratulations on your second place win for the book of the month! Totally cool.
Blessings,
Deb

A cute poem about the things we enjoy sniffing, and others not so much. Yes, it's amazing how we can recognize things and people by the fragrance they exude. Good, steady rhythm makes this poem zip along, while still allowing time to smell the roses. Lol. Blessings. Carol

I do agree. I love to smell flowers. I can't seem to keep them alive, but I love to smell them. I like the way you pull me in to breathing in through my nose to smell what I was reading.

This was a cute, fun piece of poetry. I like how you said your trash was "growing pests." LOL. You really summed up things with that last stanza. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks, Jessi! It was so fun to write. I do'nt think I've ever actually let the trash get that bad but it fit and was funny so... I'll take the heat for it! HA!
Thanks again, and blessings,
Deb

Yes, this NaPoWriMo Contest #10 challenge entry caused me to smile. Smell in a very powerful sense and can bring back memories of many things. Thank you for sharing it.
And, no, not all scents are pleasant - (my kitty litter box!!)

YUP! I've alwas had a kitty until the last few omonths - my whole life. But we travel too much to sustain a cat fairly so she now belongs to my daughter. I gotcleaned that box twice a day for so many years! And, btw, I don't let my trash pile up but it fit so well... lol
Than ks, Barbara!

Deb
