Yvonne - it is so, so good hearing from you after your too long absence. However, it takes as long as it takes. We plan, God decides, or as some may say, He laughs. A luxury liner does not turn on a dime, and depending on the elements it can be hindered longer than expected. But, the important thing is you are back!!! I've not written in a long time, so don't expect anything from me soon. Maybe reading some of your posts will inspire me : ) Take care, my friend and God bless. Loren

BTW, regarding this poem. I see it filled with both positivity and hope. A great way to live/survive this seemingly capricious life.

Loren -- truly good to see your name here -- one of the voices I didn't realize how much I'd missed until now (insert big, unexpected grin here). It's been a journey to get here, but I've found me again, and that's what matters!! As I said, though, I have two jobs, so I'll be 'hit and miss' till summer -- plus keeping up my new little house/grounds alone takes some time as well... but at least my mind has found it's 'pen outlet' again!!! You take care and I do hope to read you soon... ;-)

Ouch!! Yes, lost love is a difficult emotion to describe but you did a wonderful job describing it in this contest entry and only used 60 syllables. Good luck with the contest.

So good to see your name here, Lady Sal!! Oh, how I have missed interacting with y'all!! Thanx for those stars and for the welcome back -- will probably be only a bit at a time until summer gets here, but it sure felt good to scribble this one out and type it in -- my heart and my psyche missed what the pen can do!! I had forgotten.... silly blonde!! :-) Take care out there and have a wonderful remainder of the week!

Most welcome! I figured this was a toe dip until school's out. A delight nonetheless. Blessings to all,

I missed you, Yvette. :) Good to have you back. When you left I thought the fairies took you. Yet, after reading your minute poem I see you are designing filagree (jewelry?) Your second job? I feel for you but loved it when you wrote, "Not one to rouse fear's snarling hate." Hate only causes ulcers. :) So keep going forward and don't worry about the green. It will come... maybe with a kiss? Who knows. This is a good entry for the Minute Poetry Contest. Thanks for sharing. PS. Your son still works with bullets?

Not holding my breath on a kiss these days... but who knows what the future has in store, right? ;-) However, I still might take off with the fairies now and again -- sure could use some of their light-hearted wit these days... in fact, I'm pretty sure they're watching me from the woods these days (lol!). And, no worries, there are lots of greens in the landscape these days... the grays are very few and far between.
And, yes, he does... took his visual/artistic bent to college with him and graduates next month with a degree in Industrial Design with multiple offers awaiting him! :-)

Your lovely minute verse is a celebration of the solace you now feel after a more disruptive period. It has a delightful flow and a meditative feel to it which leaves me feeling soothed and peaceful. Your last line has a note of poignancy about it, explaining the journey you seem to have been on. My sincere best wishes that you're now able to start enjoying life again. Thanks for sharing and good luck! Debbie

Thanx so much for dropping by, Debbie -- such an insightful review is always so exciting (and, in many ways, reassuring that the pen still works the way I intended!!) to read... those stars are greatly appreciated, my lady! Take care out there!

You cannot imagine how happy I was to see your name in my inbox. I have 6 (soon to be 7) grandchildren now, and my reviewing, writing time comes and goes. Otherwise, I would have already gotten in touch.
Your poem is lovely. I've missed your wit and charming way with words. May all of us breathe without regret. That's been my guiding light my entire life. I live in the "in between". I sleep better that way.
I am so glad that you have found the peace to get back to your writing. Are you still teaching in Huntsville.
Oh, it is good to hear from you.

So good to hear from you, too, my Lady Pope -- and what a wonderful (and growing) family it sounds like you have!! And I'm actually teaching a little closer to you these days (in Albertville) and am in a place of my own here on 4+ acres with a pond. It's a small place, perfect for a mom who only has her youngest son 'at home' -- he graduates from Auburn next month! And so goes the underlying reason for my absence... healing. Oh, and working and gardening! :-) Looking forward to dipping my toes back in a little at a time: with teaching full time and an evening job, not a whole lotta 'extra time' for else! :-)
You take care of those grand kids and it is SO GOOD to see that smile again!

Thanks for catching me up. I knew that you were healing. Sounds like you were accomplishing as well. You and your energy makes my head spin.
