Point well made and taken. Words older than anyone who may have ever lived, still live on. They have been repeated and rewritten millions of times over. They resonate as much and as well today as when they were first uttered.

This is a very unique interesting piece, Barry. I had never really given it much thought, but what we write here will be available for generations to come to read if they do desire.
I better cut back on the "pull my finger pieces". Ha!
Introspective read.

Doug,
You are correct about our written word being able to be read for generations i.e if the internet stays around or is not fully governed by governments who are alien to poetry and other forms of free expression. Yes, a bit depressing of me.
Anyway, thanks for the review and have a good day.

True words and words to live by, what words we say or write do matter, long after the paper has turned to dust. You have chosen a good subject to reflect upon for your verse. Thanks for sharing it.

Wonderful writing. And it's certainly true that the paper words are written on won't last for ever. I guess what we all hope for is that someone will remember our words.
Perfect picture to accompany the poem too.

So true. Words expressed from the heart are timeless and everlasting. Unlike material possessions that can rust and deteriorate. That is why it is important to express these emotions at every opportunity. Before time gets the best of us...

I like this poem very much, it strikes a chord. I'm always trying to write the next great poem. I love reading the poetry written through the ages which have made the words of the poets immortal. Your poem expresses that beautifully. Excellent effort. Best wishes!

This poem, The Paper and the Pen, reminds readers that dreamers die but not the dreams. Words carry over by word of mouth or written word. The fear, of course, is first, people stop reading, and worst, they stop listening.

I thought this was great! I love how your poem shares the thought that while paper may crumble and ink may fade, the essence of poetry persists. I think this is so beautiful. Very creative and well written.
