"Otter Nonsense," Sir Bill!
I shall never be taken prisoner in a "storied" mansion!
Oh! Wait!
I've been here since 2007!
Egads!
Too late!
I'm doomed!
Much enjoyed!

Thank you, Diane. As prisons go it seems okay.

Well, that is a bit different was that for the challenge of writing a 50-word flash including a key and a magical animal. I am guessing so. I found that contest too much of a challenge and gave it a miss. Good luck with the voting.

I was not allowed to participate in the contest as the key was discarded and not lost.

This short story effectively establishes an atmosphere of fantasy and intrigue, while the concept of trapping creatures within a palatial estate adds suspense and mystery. The imagery hints at a community of storytellers and poets, prisoners of their own creations.
I enjoyed reviewing this because it challenged me to find deeper meaning. - Terry

I can see that as one interpretation. It may be the truth, and we just think we are in control.

Imagine a group of such diverse writers and personalities, all drawn into this weird realm together! Wait a minute! It's real! And my membership is paid up! No escape!

I really enjoyed this story. It was remarkably well-rounded for such a short write. I was left wondering if any of us would even notice what Othello Otter had done.

Yes and here we all are. Collaborating on how to show our gratitude for having found each other and learning the lesson of how to peacefully coexist while blithely creating literature that will last down through the ages. Imagine that.

"Othello Otter" Good alliteration to the title.
Nice complementary picture art choice.
I don't mind being trapped with those creatures in the palatial estte. They seem to be having loads of fun--and may never want to be let out. LOL
Good luck!

Let our muses run rampant and we shall write to our hearts content, oblivious that we have been taken prisoner within the mansion. Now why would Othello want to do that to us?

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. It does seem FanStory does capture us, and we often spend way too much time here, when other responsibilities need attention. LOL Maybe there has been a magic spell put on us.
