I'm laughing. There are nights when sleep eludes me, and I go off on just such a series of racing thoughts which has me questioning my sanity.
Then again, if I'm questioning it, it is probably much too late...
I try to go to sleep once again and return to my irregularly scheduled mind-morphs!

Hi Tom,
don't ya just hate it when that happens? You wake up to pee, or whatever, and then you can't fall back to sleep. My mind usually goes to the most disturbing issue that can possibly plague me, and then I dwell on that issue until I'm ready to puke. It's so frustrating. I think we might have been at the farm for much of the Mr. Spock era, so I think I missed out on most of it. I did rather enjoy watching Shatner on Boston Legal. That show was hilarious. I never cared for James Spader as an actor before then, but he was the underpinning of the show. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe that would be a way to stop the thought from developing... getting up to urinate, but no, daddy lays thre trying to do it from not doing anything and the idea develops until I arise and begin typing.

You're right. I think the final frontier would be exploring the deep, dark recesses of your mind, although that may be a voyage too frightful to contemplate with no hope of discerning any meaning from it.
Just kidding, of course, because I'm convinced you are like the court jester of old, and are probably the smartest guy in the room, the only question being, which room? (My guess is the bathroom where you mentioned the bowels of hell. I recommend prunes.)

I think Dante's Inferno explored the nine circles of hell. It's a nice relaxing bedtime read.

Just seeing William Shatner's name broke my concentration and keep me from getting all that I could from your story. Shatner used to have a farm just up the road from me and of course we had to cross paths regularly. I was a huge Star Wars fan, and then I wasn't. He is the nastiest human being on earth. The people at the airport finally had to tell him that if he couldn't be nicer to people, then he needed to fly in an out of another airport. LOL. By seeing my novella rant, do you think you might have hit s sour note? Thanks for sharing.

You never know? What about me? I go to sleep with no thought in mind and whack! A stirring stirs and I lose control of my REMS. Still, my mind is an entertaining vehicle.
