A great subject, it is a pity we can't/ don't think about this 365 days of the year, though we are trying to cut down on plastic it is not quick enough, very well written and presented****kahpot

Thanks. If we all did our part in recycling, the world would be in a better environmental place for our next generations.

Your poem highlights the need to preserve the beautiful flowers that dot our landscape now - but may disappear in the near future, if we do not take steps to restore instead of destroying our planet's ecosystem.

June,
Thanks for your commentary and stars. We do need to recycle our plastic products.

Hi, Mark. I did not realize Earth Day had a different theme every year! "Planet vs Plastics" is certainly an important focus! I happened to read that we produce 400 million tons of plastic waste every year. It takes 450 years for plastic to degrade. I'm not great at math but I know this is an untenable scenario!
I love yellow crocuses. How long before they (and we) are extinct?
A thought-provoking Haiku!
(Thanks for the article, I shared it with some FS friends)

We will not be on this Earth (nor our great great great grand children) by the time today?s plastics degrade.

How sad!

This 5-7-5, Earth Day 2024, has the proper formatting and emphasizes the importance of nature over industry as we move back to saving the planet and not simply exploiting it.

Very nice 5-7-5 poem with a lovely piece of artwork to go with it. This year I have helped Earth Day by always taking my own bags when I go shopping. I recycle my trash. I stopped buying plastic liquid containers whenever possible. Thanks for sharing.
