This limerick, Rather a Rebel, has the proper formatting and gives a few more signs of resistance being shown as the minds of parents and children battle over simple things.

I can't match yours, but it was fun to try:
There was a young lass, Joan of Arc,
Of a similar mind, but hark
Her love of armour
Didn't half harm her
In her day, it caused quite a spark.

Hooray for rebel princesses! I'm glad that there are some who won't play the part that society enforces on them and can take up their God-given talents and change the world!

This is pretty well written for an, but I believe that you need one more gaming line with the final line. I think there needs to be six lines total. Patricia .

What a very good limerick Debra, good to see you onboard again. And in that preferred syllable count of 9/9/6/6/9, great wit, it doesn't matter what her rebellion was, great post, blessings Roy

Very good you achieved your goal with style. Did your daughter like it? I guess the picture is Jeanne Darc I cannot think of man women outside of fantasy that wore amour.

You did a great job on this limerick that you daughter challenged you to write. I think it was perfectly charming. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is fun. At first I thought it was about Joan of Arc, due to the picture.
Obviously I had skimmed over the princess part. I wonder if you could make the title work harder? Was your daughter pleased with the outcome of her challenge?

I enjoyed the sentiment here in your Limerick, but you didn't quite get the distinctive Limerick metre here Debra, but I love the story, I hope your daughter enjoyed your poem, love Dolly x
