Hello, Barbara!

So nice to see you posting! I spent years as a nurse in these communities and your description is all too familiar to me. It's like a "senior" brand of Junior High School all over again, isn't it?

Good for you! Keep socializing and soon you'll find "your" group of friends that will accept you and with whom you'll feel comfortable!

You're one of the most resilient people I know.

Keep being your authentic self! (And keep writing and posting here!)

Karenina

Welcome back, Barbara! I'm so glad you have a sense of community and have people to play games with and share opinions. And I hope they keep you safe from future falls. Remember that the Lord loves each of them no matter what their political opinions!

Hi Barbara, just like a new job, a new living situation takes times to adjust to it, and to know who the players are. I have a lot of experience with 55+ communities, and yes, they can be catty. I'm glad that you are socializing, and now you know, that when you are around certain people, you'll have to keep a little distance.

I am so proud of you for making this brave move. As we age, change is not easy, but you have handled the change quite well. Sooner or later, you will find One true friend and confidant at your living community. Until then, take it slow and enjoy these new experiences. Everything that you need is there for you, and that is a blessing. Xo. M
p.s. Know-it-alls are everywhere.

Have you been to bingo? Thank you for sharing another amazing chapter in your life. Xo. Margaret

Hi Barbara,
I so enjoyed that little foray into your life at the assisted living place. I'm only 71 so just a kid really! The honesty in your writing (and your life) is like a refreshing shower, so carry on doing what you do best and living your best life. Many blessings :)
