A snippet of your life with, I suspect, much more to come.
I found this to be well written, engaging and authentic with a good spattering of humour. Well done.

Congratulations on your first post! I enjoyed it. Your storytelling is engaging and you do a wonderful job of capturing what it's like to be young. You showed us the complexities of childhood friendships and conflicts. The relationships felt real because they acted as kids act! The descriptions and the dialogue felt authentic. Great job in bringing the narrator, his brother, and Jack to life in an enjoyable story.

Oh yes indeed! You caught an incredible historic moment here. Not sure what year this fight was, but it was before my time. Ali was an older man when I was a kid. Tyson was our champion. You know...until he went all cannibal. I guarded him at the Plainsfield Correctional Facility. What a turn about.

Anyways, I enjoyed the story.

Thank you for the inspiring review, Douglas. Ali and Frazier fought for the first time in 1971. Anyways, on to Tyson: That's wild you guarded him. Before he had his face tattooed I suppose. Boxing and sports in general are fun to read and write about.

Thanks again for making my landing on FanStory a smooth one!
