As mother of four adult boys, I agree motherhood is the best. The only close second is grandmotherhood. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and want to wish you luck with the contest.

Your love for life would have never seen you choose wrongly... your desire to be a mother was a much stronger knowing.
My own mother had just turned seventeen when she gave birth to me... nine days after her birthday to be exact. I can only imagine how difficult such an experience at that early age would have been... and I too am truly grateful to my mother for giving me a chance at life.
I loved that you went out and 'purchased' the excellent parenting book by Dr Spock. I'm glad it may have helped you negotiate such a new way of life.

well, it doesn't get more real than this!
Your love for life would have never seen you choose wrongly... your desire to be a mother was a much stronger knowing.
My own mother had just turned seventeen when she gave birth to me... nine days after her birthday to be exact. I can only imagine how difficult such an experience at that early age would have been... and I too am truly grateful to my mother for giving me a chance at life.

As everything I write, it comes straight from my heart. Some say I reveal too much about my personal life but for me is like therapy, it helps me process my emotions and it's all part of my art expression. As Rick Nelson said, "You can't please everyone So you got to please yourself"
I am happy your mother gave you a chance at life, you are such a wonderful and kind person and best friend.

Here in New Jersey many many years ago...
We had an issue with what was known as..
"The Prom Queen."
Melissa Dexter.
Perhaps you could consider this 17-year-old a child.
But this young woman gave birth in the bathroom during the prom.
And, unfortunately she was scared.
Yes, and did not know what to do?
She did not abort the baby but the baby fell into the toilet.
She was so scared.
She picked it up and put it in the trash can.
And, then went back to the prom.
And continued to dance.
Of course, the child was never saved and never had a chance.
And, of course Melissa did 8 years in prison.
It made international besides public news.
...
Just several years after this incident, there was a woman.
Of course who was mentally ill.
And, again unfortunately decided to drown herself.
And her three children in the back in their child's seats.
Of course, once the Chevy van went into the water, she was a coward and saved herself.
And of course she was not able to detach the children from the back child restraining seats.
And, again unfortunately they passed away.
...
This was well written rich in Theme and Imagery.
It also, read well and Flowed well with no Grammar Issues.

About 23 years ago, my stepdaughter Kyle got pregnant at the age of 19 years old.
I considered her not only just a young woman.
Yes, I'd taken care of from the age two but also a woman.
Sasha Lynn had a problem
And, after her birth she Could not keep her body weight above 5 pounds.
While Kyle Who had toxcemia could not even give natural birth here.
And, that day pushing?
I told her you need AC section.
...
Now Gypsy, for 3 weeks.
I drove back-and-forth to Jersey Shore hospital in Neptune, New Jersey.
It just opened up a brand new Neo Natal.
So, Sasha was in the old one.
And of course way back then.
If the child did not take its feeding within 20 minutes, they would tube feed the baby, which of course, did not work.
Also, finally, a new Doctor had come in and he said.
"Now if Sasha could take doen her afternoon feeding?"
And, it was just 5 oz."
"She could go home."
...
And of course, she wouldn't be able to, so I told her soon to be husband Fred
...
"NOW, either you drink the Damn stuff.!"
"Yes, or I am cause i'm not coming back up here driving back and forth over a hundred and fifty miles!"
...
Note:
Within 1 week, Baby child Sasha Lynn Drum.
Yes, put on a full pound being in the Care of my household.
And, the quietness of a bedroom.
Yes, where she could have peace and quiet.
And, plenty of time to be fed.
By a mother and father who loved her so.

Another fine write, Gypsy, and at least you had the option about whether to have an abortion. That is between you and you conscience. We have too many unwanted kids as it is to add many more to their ranks. It makes me so mad that Republicans seem to think women who choose to have an abortion use it as birth control, which is also on their target list

I agree with you. Have you watch Trump democrats are getting abortion AFTER they baby is born... he is such a freaking lier.
I'm pro choice, it's women's bodies their choice. Women will not stop getting abortions, they won't have safe ones.

So, first off, no parents are perfect. All it takes is one good person in a child's life to make a real difference. I have a feeling, okay, I know you were that person in your children's lives.
We don't have to be right. We just have to be there.

Yes, I have 2 girls children (adults now) and 2 girls and one boy grandchildren. (*=*) I have taken care of my 6 yrs old grandson since his birth. He is my little man. I'm lucky to have remarkable family.
I welcome grammar feedback, Prose is not my forte.

My family, my mother's sister, supported my decision. My father sent a letter to my aunt telling her it was her fault but it wasn't, and my dad left me so he didn't have the right of an opinion.
