Engrossing chapter. I giggled about the sewing. My mother sewed some of my clothes, and I ended up sewing too. But it's true... I sew and then rip back like 2/3rds.... and then sew some more.... spend most of my time ripping..... Ugh! I didn't see any typos.

Hi Liz, your story is moving along nicely. Your high school years were interesting, and Wendy turned out to be a good person. Of note:

-- I had developed a great personality, with an emphasis on humor, so it was a surprise to all when I announced I was planning on entering the Convent.

(I'm sure that some of them were rolling their eyes. "The calling" is a mystery to many.)

--It's funny because I am not good at backing up now.

(Most drivers that live outside of city limits are not good at backing up because they are used to just driving into spots and not having to parallel park. )

Have a great night, taxidriver. Good writing. Margaret

This was a very smooth and delightful chronicling of these important years of your life. I'm waiting for the next installment. Did you actually enter the convent? Hope you post the next one on Sunday when I have extra stars.

While you're upside down, you should enter tht poetry contest.

I get weirded out because I think if I enter something else then my post that I have of my autobiography gets covered up and I don't want that to happen. that's why I've never entered any of the contests because it disappears

I wish I could help you. I only revised my Profile page once and added my hat because my photo is so bad it disappeared from the site!

It's a good thing the photo disappeared. I don't want to scare away the few readers I have.

It is hard to discover who we are and to embrase it. I can see how with your family situation and the nuns it would even be more difficult. Thank you for sharing.

Therein lay theproblem. (the problem)

I am enjoying your story. To me just reading it, it doesn't sound like you were ever rejected. You sound like one of the more popular. People with a good sence of humor usually are. Most people don't pay particular attention to everyone. They are in to into thier own world and don't notice those who aren't a part of it. They don't realize someone might feel they being rejecting.

Your mom was amazing! I could have definitely been helped with that kind of gradual coaching in driving like that! And you're so right - having a mother who sews makes it less likely for us kids who enjoyed their sewing zeal to sew for ourselves.
I'm glad that you enjoyed that popular status in high school. Perhaps the students were also more mature. It's good you had a good mentor as a teacher, too.
Typo:
I think in your title you meant "your" not "you" (Cooking on you own)

You had an interesting Junior through Senior High years. It is sad you thought you weren't popular. I was always too busy to think about it, but I was never popular, except when I turned sixteen before almost everyone in my class. Actually, my car was popular.

I have missed these stories of your life in and after the convent - probably my fault as I have been very absent from the site for the last year, but I enjoyed this one very much. Nice to read of Wendy's kindness once she had grown older. kay

Thank you for your delightful review. You know you're welcome to go to my portfolio and dig out any of those chapters but the title you can kind of get an idea what's going on. But you do not need to worry about writing a review Just enjoy the chapter It's almost like isn't it nice one We have our own books and we don't have to do a review on the book We're reading? Although there are times and I just want to tell the author what a great job they did with that episode or whatever but I don't.

I thought this was well written. You share a clear vivid picture of your experiences in school. I like how you show us the challenges and triumphs you faced. My favorite is when you described your catechism classes w ith the cartoons. It shows us a glimpse into your childhood. Your friendships with Maris and Stella was also very well written. Overall I thought this showed the emotional journey of your school years so well. Great job, I enjoyed reading it.
