An excellent entry for the Teach Me Something writing prompt. That is some beautiful work and it definitely sounds interesting but if you knew me you'd know that i would definitely burn the building down if I tried it. lol You should share pictures of your own work sometime. Good luck in the contest.

I was thinking of putting a photo of the birth plaque which took me many, many hours. But against this one and others I saw online, it looked a bit amateurish. So I thought I would show the possibilities. Yet people might have been encouraged to see what even a beginner can do. Thank you for a lovely review. A great encouragement. (It came a tie for second).

Pyrography - now that is something that I personally do not know anything about! One sentiment expressed stands out here' go as slowly as possible:' - a sentiment, the value of which we seem to have shelved in our modern 'fast' world and its attitude to life. How different the world might be if we applied that 'old fashioned attribute.' Well done - should make it to winner's enclosure -has my vote.

Thank you very much for your lovely words, the amazing six stars, and for your vote! I am very grateful and honoured by all three!

An intriguing art form explained in clear and well expressed detail. Almost like a mantra you encourage the novice to go slowly and steadily, respecting the fact that fire and wood can be a pretty volatile combination. But the effects are truly beautiful as portrayed in your image. Thank you so much and good luck! Debbie

Thank you very much for this lovely review! And for the good wishes as well. These days it's not very fashionable to recommend a "go slow" hobby.

It's nice to see someone who's willing to slow down and take their time on projects. As someone who has a tendency to sometimes rush things I really appreciate those who are patient in any project. This was an interesting read and shows the importance of taking things slow. I think you did a good job. Have a great week!

Thank you very much! What a lovely review. Yes, it is hard to be patient and go slowly - especially these days.

Thanks for sharing about pyrography! How very cool! And I could recognize the root of pyro for fire. More than the results, I admire your focus and patience! Best wishes in the contest!

I remember as a child getting a thingy I plugged in and designing a pencil holder for my Dad, then painting ducks on it. Haven't thought of that in years. Well written and interesting. The computerized art is not satisfying even though it may end up beautiful, and I like the go slowly. Well done. Esther

Thank you very much Esther for this lovely review. Yes, going slowly is something we are not so good at now.

I never realized how many details went into your craft! Learning, indeed, is trial and error, so this poem is valuable as you're saving some woodworkers time and money here with your experience and advice.
Very well done, a good entry!
