I would love to dive down to the ocean floor. I understand that parts of it are so deep that I can't. I think it would be beautiful. I enjoyed reading your entry and wish you luck with the contest.

To quietly observe - that is wisdom and a means of survival in a world of chaos. Find that place of peace and anchor yourself - let the turbulence pass over us. Great free verse with deep sentiments.

What a delightful and thought-provoking picture you present. The bottom of the ocean. Looking up at a world so far above. So imaginative. I see your inspiration, I must look that up.
I love how you have written this. It really grabbed my attention. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Hi, Lindsey
This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that.!
I certainly hope you didn't drown. My husband almost drowned once and he said it was a pleasant experience. When they pulled him out of the water, he was angry because he was having so much fun, drowning.
But, if one could stay on the bottom of the ocean floor, it would be serene and peaceful if you didn't drown
You are right It would be almost impossible to stay on the bottom except in a submarine.
I found your poem very serene and peaceful. You captured the feeling!! Very good
Thank you for sharing

Thank you so much for taking the time to read it and write this thoughtful post. The author who inspired the poem sits on the ocean floor while scuba diving. The idea of drowning has always terrified me so I find it comforting to hear that he found it to be pleasant (just in case - we never know!). Take care and thanks again!

Your writing is so beautiful. I love the imagery. What stood out was sitting on the ocean floor and feeling the weight of your bones. Wow! That is so powerful. Your poem is so skillfully written. Great job.

Thanks so much for reading it and writing a review! I just love the concept of our thoughts and emotions being the surface of the water - subject to hurricanes as well as calm and peaceful times, but no matter what the bottom of the ocean is always serene.

I enjoyed this free verse poem. Sometimes it makes a world of difference if you step back and just observe what's going on around you. You can learn a lot as well. Good job and good luck. Have a blessed day

Thank you! I agree and I feel it?s important to observe not just what is happening around you but also within you. This is about keeping thoughts and emotions at the surface of the ocean (where there may be big storms and waves) but keeping your core self safe and calm at the bottom. Thank you for reading and responding to my work!
