This dribble, Pumpkin Scones, has the proper word count and brings the world around straight as this product of love and connection rises to meet the adoring scone crowd. Nice.

Hi there,

This is a good little piece which invokes the use of those senses. Nice work here. Best of luck in the competition.

Spot on for the word count also.

What a delightful story told in just fifty words and invoking so many senses. This makes me as a grandma wanting to have a special dish that my grandchildren will remember me for!

I am sure your grandchildren will remember you for many things. Perhaps you should try something a little different. Cheese scones were also on the menu every now and then. Take care and thanks for your review.

This is truly a story of anticipation which evokes all of the senses. Our grandmothers tended to have those food items that made our mouths water; my Grandma Summers made the best fried chicken I've ever tasted.

Nice story and nod to Nana, Barry.

Scones are basically biscuits, right? Pumpkin ones sound yummy. I make good buttermilk biscuits. They melt in your mouth. Smells kick memories into high gear. :-) Good story. Karen

    Karen,
Thanks for your review. Yes, freshly cooked biscuits have the same effect. Buttermilk biscuits. Now they sound yummy. Take care and don't eat all the biscuits.
    Cheers

Hi, Barry

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

Well, this is short and sweet. But what did the ears do? Did they hear something?

I guess maybe the ears are going to hear when they come out of the oven by the slamming of the oven door

Is this a real memory of yours? This is cute

I enjoyed reading your story

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

You are correct. The ears are searching for the sound as to when they come out of the oven. Thanks so much for your review. Many of my memories come from the making of the pumpkin scones.

Excellent! I love the sequence of detection by the various senses. That was very well thought out and described and really conveyed the sensation of discovering those delicious smells. Well done!

Ha Ha, Spot on. Although biscuits also were made. My dad actually became the biscuit maker.
    Take care.

I loved this Barry, as the nose was first alerted before the other senses were alerted to nana's pumpkin scones. Your little dribble flash fiction had me smiling and wishing for a warm scone with plenty of butter. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers
Valda
