We are not promised tomorrow or even the next hour. We need to make sure we let the people in our lives know how much we love them. Thank you for sharing this reminder with us as a contest entry. Good luck with the contest.

This is a very nice effort, Darla. You almost squeezed six stars out of me. You picked a great subject. I think this poem would be excellent if you added one more stanza that would really grab the reader.

We should all have this message on our bathroom mirror to look at each morning, reminding us of what's important. Thank you for writing this. We need to treasure every moment. Well done.

Ciao Pookietoo!

This topic touches a nerve.

My mother passed away suddenly , we had argued over something futile 4 days prior.

We were still not speaking to each other when she died.

I wish I could go back and make up, tell her I loved her.

Dying without being able to say those last precious words like : I love you or I'm sorry is horrible for both the deceased and for those left behind.

We should always try to be in harmony with everyone.

Never let an argument linger and say " I love you" when we leave the house.

Life is fragile and so unpredictable.

PS: you have a typo in the first stanza ; the word hour is missing the H

In the second line HOUR is missing it's H. Other than that you have a good, heartfelt piece of poetry. It is written well and with true feeling. I have read poems here that look pretty and competent, but they are missing what makes us feel their work. I certainly felt your emotions I share them too. Good work. Karen
