Good job. You rescued Megan from those sleazy scumbags. This chapter was full of fast-paced action from start to finish. I am enjoying this story very much.

Good morning, April...Yes, Megan was saved and all the other girls. They will be safe and the others should go to jail but since they are international.....

Aw, that was a satisfying chapter. With Eleanor's help they managed to rescue all the girls. Thank goodness for that. Megan is finally safe. Great chapter, Carol. Hugs, Ulla xcx

Yes, All is well that ends well. And the girls are safe. I think you will enjoy the next few chapters too. It is difficult to say goodbye to Eleanor...but maybe she can visit us again.

I think the relationship between Donatelli and Eleanor is so cute. She has to wake him up with a splash or water and then in the car, he compares her to a cat that needs a bell and now he thinks of her as the "energizer bunny." Lots of fun with this rescue chapter!

I think they would make a perfect duo in another story...a series of mystery crime with some humor. I loved writing them. Thanks so much for reading another chapter and of course for enjoying it.

You left no stone unturned, thought of everything, and included all the details, like an exhausted Donatelli falling asleep and snoring. But, just when we think the girls will be rescued from Pier 17, you have the girls moved. You inserted tension every step of the way. You make us glad every time Eleanor appears...like Superman, to save the day. This should be a movie. There's plenty of action.

I didn't want the end of the story to slow down too fast so that it is like a drop off so I am thrilled that you appreciated the tension still there but easing off.
Thanks so much for the review and the support.

Well done, Eleanor! And well done, Donatelli. Margaret will be thrilled to have Megan home and safe, and hopefully, she will continue with the soup kitchen. I hope the others will honour Eleanor by doing what she requested. Now what is left to tie up. Charles??? This was an exciting chapter, my friend. Well done! :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you...a few more surprises I think... and then we will have to say goodbye to Eleanor. My mind is already wondering if I should write another story like this or move in another direction. Can you see a series with a ghost and a detective solving crimes? Thank you again....
    Love ya, Carol

I absolutely can see a ghost and detective solving crimes together. You did an amazing job with this one! Yes, I want more. I've used ghosts in several of my novels. Go for it. XXXX

It's a relief that Donatelli had the aid of someone that could transport herself wherever she wanted to go, and the man who responded to her invaluable help, this is a marvellous strory of redemption, we should have more dead people in the land of the living, well done, blessings Roy

I totally agree, Roy! If this world had a few more of Eleanor, we might straighten some of these "problems" out. Thanks so much for reading and the encouraging review.

Oh well done. I was a bit concerned that they would hear Donatelli arrive as he screeched his car to a stop at the pier. The crims must not have had anyone watching the shore, as the police were able to advance and free the girls. A great relief to see them safe, along with the judge being out of the action for a (long) while. Very dramatic!

Good call! Maybe the screeching should have been mellowed out. I got too involved in the excitement! Goes to show those criminals were more caught up in the greed than saving their skins.

Donatelli does have a playful side as he thinks of Eleanor as the Energizer Bunny. Megan is going to have a much different view of the world, just like her mother who has discovered what poverty means at the soup kitchen. Hopefully Donatelli will finally get a good night's sleep.

Yes, Donatelli is actually a good side under that tough skin. It's just Garth doesn't bring out the best in him. And maybe the women in Eleanor's family are ready to help those who aren't as well off as they are.

Let's see what sorta surprises lay ahead. BOO reading...I recall earlier that the judge was booked! Her eyes found an ice bucket filled with cold water and remnants of ice cubes. Under the direction of her pointer finger, the silver bucket lifted off the credenza and traveled across the room, stopping directly over the detective's head. She smiled, enjoying the perks of being a ghost.

"Matthew! We've got work to do." Oh, no! That should do the trick! Help -- here? There's been a change. They said we were going on the yacht moored at the end of the pier. They're taking us somewhere." Oops, a change in plans. "I didn't catch a name, but it's moored at the end of Pier 17. I disabled it temporarily by tossing the keys overboard, but that won't hold them for long." Tossed the keys overboard, guess that will stall the getaway. Reading...The sound of the waves lapping against the pier was almost soothing, contrasting sharply with the tension in the air. Good description! approached the yacht, the moon casting a ghostly glow over the scene. Awe, nice alliterations! Ghostly glow. Sounds good together; another stellar episode! Catch ya' next time!

BOO!

Okay, that's it. I'd like to propose an official fan club for Eleanor, the unstoppable spirit who puts a chill in the atmosphere, the wiles of a seasoned detective to thwart crime, and is hysterical with an ice bucket!

(I know, it's just a little bit of the chapter, but gosh, I loved it!)

"Ellie" has fully charmed Donatelli and the gruff detective will soon be besties with Garth. (sigh...)

Megan and the girls have been saved from a fate worse than death.

Now...for those paintings!

Hello, dearest...Hope you are feeling chipper! I believe the story is about to wind down, I posted 23 and 24 and 25 are in progress...a bit emotional in those chapters. Might wait to post them on Sunday.... I need to read and get some money anyhow. I want to at least give the final chapter a big boost...I'll hate to say goodbye to Eleanor. What am I going to do with myself?
    thanks as always...Love you, Carol

LOL....I just suggested we make this a two-month book challenge. (Purely selfish on my part, but hey, I know you're attached to Eleanor and I know you could keep this going for another month easily!

I am seriously thinking how I could start a series with her and maybe the detectives. It's been fun! I've written approximately 50,000 words in 25 chapters in roughly rwo weeks....plus if I wait till sunday to post the end....Not bad! Smiles, Carol
