This is getting very tense now. I love how you're setting up the coming confrontation. Just the right amount of foreboding. Every day, it's confirmed what an absolute worthless heel Daddy is, and we're looking forward to what he has coming to him. I love Dewey's subtle threat to him with the coyote story.

Yes, things are heating up just a bit each chapter. Matthew is probably one of the worst characters who I've ever written about. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Wow Gretchen! This was outstanding. Dewey is starting to feel his oats. I, for one, would like to see him get some revenge on his hateful father. Obviously the man is outright evil and full of mischief. Perhaps the law of sowing and reaping is about to be visited upon him. Well done gal!

You have a good imagination to build the tension with the knowledge the two boys have about what their father is really about. Dewey wants only one thing now as he watches his father, waiting for him to be vulnerable.
