Thank you for sharing this adorable photograph and contest entry with us. Yes, this is about a baby bird, but it could also be about any baby. They all grow up so fast. Good luck with the contest.

Nice picture. Pity you did not get the very beginning of his life. Your writing is very well done. I enjoy reading your work. It is back to unpacking all those boxes. Karen

There is such sweetness in your words as you so tenderly portray this new life waiting to grow and be free. And then, the empty nest signifying that its life has taken flight. Well done.

Isn't Mother Nature so wonderful and inspiring? To share the birth of a little robin and watch it achieve it's growth and fly away from home so fast, yet such a miraculous event. Life is such a pleasant surprise.

This is a lovely poem about your connection to a baby bird. But it can also describe the bond of a mother and her child - especially when they're old enough to leave home to spread their wings. I enjoyed reading.

An excellent entry for the No Rules Poetry Contest. The photo is wonderful and the poem tells us the full story. I liked the repetition of the one line. I hope you are able to watch when it flies away. We got to watch baby cardinals grow up in a tree in our front yard and saw them on the day they left the nest. It was amazing. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very nice entry for the No Rules poetry competition. We had a nest of robins above a rain spout next to a porch door which we could observe through the kitchen window. It was fun watching them grow. I like the repetition of the line Mama will be back soon indicating he still needs help to grow and survive until he disappears into the world on his own. Lovely poem!

Brenda, I love this poem! Wow, what a great picture! What a huge mouth! You are so great at conveying the wonderful connection you have with nature, and your deep respect and love for God's critters! Especially birdies! Maddy
