This piece is informative and well written. I only wish you had stated in the piece what you state later in your comment about the piece. When I read it, my first question was: why did you write this? If you had stated that up front, it would have all made more sense. Also, I would never sell my books for less than the publisher does. That is undermining your publisher, even if you do think the price too high. I congratulate you on having a publisher! Be careful not to jeopardize that connection by underselling him/her.

It sounds like you might do better selling the books yourself and get rid of the Publisher, dependng on whether you have the time to invest. It sounds like you have a good set-up with that bookstore for a yearly event. Your picture taken at the book signing is very nice. Thanks for sharing.

So glad you did another "Meet the Author" event and that you had success with the book sales. I have no idea how book pricing works, so I have no idea about what would be a fair price to ask. Publishers surely know those details. I'm glad you have other meet the author events coming up. You've proved it boosts sales when you put yourself out there. I hope the new library prospect works for you. You're finding an audience that goes for your type of romance writing. Best of luck! judi

I'm with you, Barbara. It dies take courage to put your writing out there. But having someone buy your work, come back after they've read it and ask for more. That makes it worth it. I'm going to be honest. I never enjoyed reading reading romance novels. Then I fanned you and I look forward to your posts. I like that they are stories first, romance second. They aren't cliche or formula style. I'm glad you had a good experience at the Dixie library. Gretchen
