This haibun, Joker, has the proper formatting and pulls the backstory up to show how one person's cruel life has help create a villain who has proven to be the worst we have seen.

This is well written, and it's very easy to listen to. It is a shame that a little boy would be subjected to what this boy was subjected to in his young life. I enjoyed listening to your story very much. Have a good day of us. Patricia

As I've already mentioned, I'm a fan a Haibun and this one definitely didn't disappoint me. But I doubt if anything you write could ever. Thank you for sharing. This is very good.

His Mom's boyfriends raped him again and again. (because of 'His' mom's) is lower case.

Gypsy, this is what I've been saving my last SIX for. Brilliant work, but you outdone yourself with this extraordinary piece. I liked this Joker best as well.
God bless,
Steve

Thank you very much, Steve. I appreciate the exceptional six stars review.

I watched the Joker several times. I think it's a good study of human nature and the making of a killer. It's also an excellent commentary on the mother and the government neglect of mental patients.

It's good to share this with a fellow like minded horror fan.

My pleasure, Gypsy. I've seen it a few times myself. I loved how everyone came to his aid at the end.

I think the Joaquin Phoenix 's Joker is free on Netflix but I may be wrong. I own a copy.

    Thank you very much, Shelley

Very well illustrated Haibun poem, with great imagery that is given through your descriptive words. I grew up looking at the Batman tv series, reading its comics, but lost interest after the first movie. Your work is very well done.

Ugh. I never knew the backstory for the Joker. I feel his pain now. Even though it's fiction, we all know this shit happens in real life, and all too often. The haibun was eye opening. The poetry said it all. Great job. Gretchen

Thank you very much, Gretchen. The Joaquin Phoenix Joker is one of my favorite movies. It raises some important issues... are criminals born criminals or are they created by childhood and government neglect.

A powerful piece capturing the horrors of abuse and the way in which it drives the victim to murderous ends. I enjoyed this narrative and the haikus that enhance the grim and depressing scenario in their portrayal of the world inside and outside the scene of the tragedy. Very well done, Gypsy! Take care Debbie

Hi, Gypsy

I never thought the joker was scary in the Batman series, but your image looks scary

And this poor boy I wonder if he'd get off on insanity defense because his mental health medication's were taken away and then what she did to him would factor in

This was a good look into a troubled young man. Maybe his mother didn't deserve to die. Maybe he imagined all these things. Maybe he's schizophrenic which would make it easy for him to Imagine things.

My brother is schizophrenic and before he got medicated, he once took a sharp knife and told my sister that he could slice her up into pieces

Here I'm not understanding this. I guess you have to assume there's a rope or something to tie him to the radiator with. I would think you would mention the binding before you say it's tightened. I wonder if you meant tied him to the radiator. I've just never heard of somebody tightening another person. I've heard them tightening some bonds

Keep on trucking

The joker in comics is a villain. Arthur and his mother had mental problems. Poor Arthur had a horrible life from day one, but that doesn't excuse his crimes.

    Hello, Pam,

Thank you for your helpful feedback. I did change the word to 'tied'..

Yes, Arthur and his mom had mental problems, maybe schizophrenic. The Joker in the comic book is a villain and does bad things. In the movie you feel bad for him... he had a terrible life and nobody helped him. He was mistreated all his life. That doesn't excuse what he did.

    Thank you very much.

Oh is that the story behind the Joker? Boy, those Batman cartoon characters are really dark and come from some horrible situations. Batman also was grieving the shooting of his parents.

Yes, cartoons can be scary but not all. One of my exhusbands was a comic book collector and I read a few... not the violent ones.

Thank you very much for your excellent review, big sister.

In the Joker movie you see part of the Batman's life. Arthur's mom worked for the father shortly but she was fired do to her mental illness. She thought Batman's dad had an affair with her and Arthur was their love child but it was not true. You also see the scene where Batman's father and mother are killed. My daughter hated the movie but I love it, I have watched it a few times. I love most of Joaquin Phoenix's movies. He is such an outstanding actor and unique person.

Thank you big sister. My daughter, Nick, and Atticus went to a school function on Monday.

Did I tell you we got a dog? Her name is Muffin. We got her at the rescue center. She is from Mexico, found in Tijuana. We can tell she was abused. She has a scab bump on her head and can't bark, we don't know why she can't. She also tries to eat our food all the time, we feed her dog food, and it looks like she was fed food scraps. My daughter and son-in-law spoil her 😊 Atticus is enjoying having a dog.

Yes, you sent me pics of Muffin! So happy for Atticus! 😍
