I've read a TON of limericks this week, although I was unable to review due to an injury.
This one tickles my fancy.
We're mere days from October, which triggers my thoughts of Halloween...and thus your theme is right on the money.
I (knowing the rhythm of a limerick, as most of us do) had no problem with your last line.
Stressed/unstressed -- your conclusion made this perfect in my book.
