Franca,
You had my vote on this one!
Animals are the spice of life, giving us love, joy and sometimes panic.
I'm still trying to tame my beast (Ruby) after all these years.
She uses "intelligent disobedience" to the hilt.
Loved your story, Amica!
Best wishes,
Blessings,
Cindy

    Ciao !

Glad you enjoyed reading about one of my many misadventures.

Thank you also for the vote. I was wondering who was the kind soul that gave me my only vote.

    Much appreciated!

Haha, so we both wrote entries about defecation for this contest. Nice work Tempeste. A couple small grammar things:

There is an extra period after your first sentence.

while the culprit was nice and dry in its cot <= on its cot

Taped the drain hole, I placed the litter box in the shower <= the verb (taped) is missing a subject. You could say: I taped the drain hole, then placed... OR, after taping the drain hole, I etc.

eight month old stray <= all these words are adjectives of the word STRAY, but they only function together as adjectives, so they need to be hyphenated: eight-month-old. This is due to the Germanic influence on English.

Finally, if you want your text to show up beneath the image rather than right-aligned at the beginning when submitting a prose entry, go to the advanced options at the bottom of the editor and size your image too small, rather than auto.

Hope this helps, and thanks for the read,

🦍

My story was more about a flood due to a tap being inadvertently opened..

I appreciate all the grammar points and will edit first thing in the morning using my PC.

Was wondering if you saw the video I posted for my wee poem titled : Silverback ???

No need to review it .

    Keep safe Harambe.

Too funny. The "rest" of the story in the explanation had me giggling. Sounds like some rescue operation I would get involved in. Stray dogs are hard enough, I collect people strays. Good luck in the contest. Esther

Sadly there are all sorts of "strays' that need help.

I have more faith in animals so they are my goal.

Taking care of the homeless must be very hard physically and emotionally.

Bless you for being there for them.

I hope the cost of drying the house out wasn't exorbitant. Lucky it was only the first floor. It could've been a lot worse. Thanks for sharing your story. Good luck in the contest.

It was winter so we set the heating on 13 C ( we have cast iron radiators) which was enough for the pussy seeing she had been living outside in the cold.

We left the beams under the furniture until Spring just to be on the safe side.

She did chew the new window frame a few days later but I didn't say anything to my father until months later.

With the exception of the window, it sounds like it all worked out. Have a wonderful day.

Hello. You did a great job with developing this story for the Good Idea contest. You never know what the history of each stray pet has been. He learned that trick from somewhere. Good work and good luck.

It was an accident, jumping up she pushed the tap up .. had it been a normal tap and not one you swish nothing would have happened.

I sure cried.. come to think of it , had it happened during the night it would have been even more disastrous cause the rooms are low . Stepping in you stepped down a step so at least 10 cm of water would have flooded the apartment before starting to seep out from the front door.

Oh no! The least unexpected thing happened, your Dad said exactly what I would have said in fairness to him! What a cat-astrophe lol! He really joined your home with a memorable experience!
Well done and thanks for sharing.
Best Wishes
Nicki

It sure was a CATastrophe. Thinking back it could have been worse had she turned the faucet on during the night.

Thank god I had put a thick plank under her cot to protect her from the cold floor .... at least SHE was dry during the ordeal.

Thank you for reading and leaving a comment!

Of course she was safe and sound and dry, cats seem to have that vibe lol!
