It would seem they are more alike with their problems than he expected. Nicely written story and quite enjoyable. Only one thing you might add:
passenger side (of the car) and . . .

This is so much fun. I expected a few different things to happen. But I never saw this ending coming. You kept us wondering what would become of them, especially after she was dating others, but then when they stayed together I was sure it would end in a break up. No wonder they wanted to stay sober. Of all the things to pocket. Haha. This is an adorable story. Thanks for the fun read.
Love, Debi

A klepto couple! You blindsided me in the best possible way!

Maybe they can just steal one another's hearts as a kind of temporary cure!?

The redhead is gorgeous, the story sublime!

One of your best...

Hello Karen,
I wish I had a six to award you for this story, it was outstanding, especially the surprise ending. Where in the world do you find all the striking red haired beauties for your articles? Harold is indeed a lucky man it would appear, I hope he doesn't screw it up. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

And, I do like sixes, they are shiny. But, you do lknow that a lot of the poisons are tasteless. Don't you? Karen

This is a very well done story, with such a nice and funny twist at the end! I hadn't seen it coming, you are good at this kind of things, ha, ha, ha! As I have read many if your stories, I should have thought of it, though!

I loved the ending. They could join forces and acquire a fortune in stuff they have lifted, or they could go on taking their meds. I thought the items that Harold found he had taken were funny. They showed that he was under stress. I enjoyed the part about him wishing for a suit with no pockets. Great description of Philippa. I see you switched to present tense occasionally. I think you might do better to be consistent and keep it all in past tense. judi

I have problems with tenses. My grammar program doesn't catch them. Sense the past present and furture is all in my head at the same time, it's a problem. Karen

In a way, it's a good sign. If you unconsciously switch to present tense, it means you're really involved and right there with your characters. judi

I approach my stories as if I am having a conversation with a friend. I am just talking to them. Karen

This was an amusing story about an unusual and unlikely pair of characters. She seems so beautiful, and he's very average in every respect, but apparently they both have the same proclivity for petty theft.

I'm just curious about the lack of contractions in the characters' speech. It sounds a little unnatural. Was this on purpose?

I don't use a lot of contractions myself. And, I watch and read a lot of stuff from Great Britain where contractions are not heavily favored. Karen

Wow, what a great story! I love the large print; it is so easy to read. This was so entertaining that I forgot where I was and started over again. So, the answer is that they both had problems. What a twist to the plot! I did not see that coming. I love the little touches, like that he was a kleptomaniac. It could have been a plumber with toilet issues but that would be such a mess to clean up.
Thanks for the laughs!
Jesse

A plumber would not stir up the same romantical feeling I am sorry to say. Thanks for the read, and nice comments. Karen

I wanted to award a six but I didn't have one. A delightfully told tale. The ending left me puzzled, did I miss something. More importantly, is there a part two, and how long do I have to wait. Or is she slipping him viagra?

Ah, so Phillipa was a kleptomaniac as well. It wouldn't do you any good to invite them around for a dinner party. Between the two of them, you'd lose your house. This was a fun story. I enjoyed reading. Gretchen
