Afghans are gorgeous dogs. I wonder if they are high maintenance. I remember one friends Anatolian would always bark at the Afghan in the neighborhood. I don't know what history these dogs have with each other.
Enjoyed your 3-5-3 and the "fair hair in the air" and all the fanfare. Is the contest still running? If so best wishes!

Hi,
This is a wonderful piece of artwork for the words. Where the words inspired by the afghan's hair blowing in the wind. It seems so.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
We had two Afghans (one after the other) so I know how beautiful their silky hair looks in the wind.
If you have time you might like to check the links I provided.
I wrote about my second Afghan, no need to review.
There is a couple of photos of Abdullah.
Afghans have thick tufts when they are still under a year on the sides of their mussle...after they grow out.
Where we are kissing and near the statue, Abdullah is 12/13 months old.
On the lead, he is an adult.

You are most welcome.

This is great. I am fascinated by the 3-5-3 syllable count and how you incorporated it into your poem. The picture of the Afghan hound is perfect. Thanks for the uplifting verse. gayla

The 5-7-5 or less is my all-time favourite format.
I love the challenge of saying something that hits the reader.
That's my intent , at least.
Thank you for the kind words.
I love the pic but I just changed it because the hair was moving also because the Afghan was running.
I hope you like the edited choice.
I think the wind "at work" is more obvious in this one.

Great rhyming and the image is priceless, too. I can only imagine the joy of the dog and being a dog owner of this breed when this dog gets to enjoy the wind.
