Nicely done. Charlie didn't choose to live in the past and in most cases that's for the best. I found the middle a little confusing. Born in a generation that isn't necessarily tech savvy, it took me a moment to understand the scrolling, which was apparently on his phone. I assumed the dialogue was a memory. Fifty words of prose is difficult at best. You did a credible job. Good luck in the contest.

The one genre that guarantees that the reader engages his imagination is through short flash fiction. So few words well written, leads me to visualise a lost romance.

Haha! I was wondering where this was going to go. And I really didn't think it would go how it did, so love that and unexpected twist to this short story. It really made me laugh. I went on to read the prompt and laughed some more, wrote a dribble story with 50 word count! Ah refreshing. Good luck with the contest. Well done!
Best wishes
Nicki
